Cycle to Work Scheme

Sunday, December 20th, 2009

The cycle to work scheme has seen many employers and employees put their car keys down and opt for a bicycle. Cost effective and Green it’s a great option for anyone, businesses look are eco-responsible and employees can keep fit, do their bit and enjoy the freedom of the open road.

Electric Bikes however should be noted as being particularly relevant to the Cycle2Work scheme, not only do they qualify and tick all the aforementioned boxes but with the extra power assistance from the e-bike it makes it slightly more practical in terms of time, being able transverse all terrain and make sure you arrive at work without the being worn out after taking on the hill!

Why not talk to us about the cycle2work scheme and how you can order an electric bike?

Why buy a bike without a warranty!

Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

It’s amazing how many people are willing to part with their hard earned cash for a product without any kind of warranty. Now we love electric bikes, we want everyone to join the revolution but you wouldn’t buy a new TV, Microwave or Toaster without a warranty or some kind of recourse on the supplier/manufacturer.

But still we see plenty of bikes being sold, yes cheaply on online auctions etc. but without these guarantees! In reality, buyers are only saving a £100 or so but with cheaper, low quality and un warranted bikes. It’s a free world, people can choose to buy what they want but would you not prefer to be able to get it repaired and enjoy guaranteed quality, performance and longevity?

The only other concern is that these low quality bikes also put people off of buying an electric bike completely, bad experience reigns and all that.

Look past the price, look for the quality and the warranty!

Cheap Electric Bikes

Wednesday, July 15th, 2009

When shopping within the Electric Bike market, you will see some interesting disparities within the pricing of electric bikes. For example, certain vendors and e-auctions will sell very cheap electric mountain bikes at around £399, which sounds like an amazing deal!

However, we have spoken to a number of customers who have had some awful experiences with some of these unbranded or cheap mass UM26-1 produced bikes whereby motors don’t work or fail to operate or charge properly. The bikes assemble badly and so on.

Whilst there is always the temptation as an online retailer to sell these “stack em high sell em cheap” bikes, Top Gear has elected to avoid this and continue only to sell the quality, durable and warranted bikes. With our associations with Wisper, Urban mover et al we hope to continue to supply high quality, reliable products, they may not be all £399 price busters but you can guarantee they will work, last and provide years of pleasurable use.

Electric Bike sales rising….

Thursday, July 9th, 2009

The Independent this week announced that bike sales were on an all time high rising month on month. This is the case within the electric bike market. Credit Crunch fever has led to people wanting to reduce costs by not spending money on cars and fuel, not good news for the automotive sector but great news for Bike retailers.

Put simply, you can own a power assisted electric bike, electric mountain bike or folding bike for the same price as 12 tanks of petrol.

With the advancing electric hub motor technology, e-bikes provide an effortless way to travel inclines and off road whilst providing exercise without the sweat that puts so many people off of biking to work. The popular step through models also mean that mobility is easy too even in your work clothes.

Join the revolution, for the same price as 12 trips to the petrol pumps you can save years of trips to the petrol pumps!!
